... here is some benefits of continue to smoke:

1. Time breaks - some people may not notice this, but for me it is one of the most important thing about smoking. I'm programmer, and if you spend in front of your monitor whole day where is a good chances for you to become crazy. Cigarettes addiction give me a constant break from brain pressure, I can go outside, on the street and enjoy smoking while my brain relaxing. This may sound silly. My non-smoker Chinese co-worker (also a programmer) was just doing push-ups every 2 hours. For my European background - this looks absolutely weird, do push-ups in the middle of the busy office, where people are working, and unfortunately I will never be able to relax like this. It is much more comfortable to just smoke for me. So I need smoke, to survive my job pressure (I'm not talking about drug part of the smoke yet, but just the mandatory breaks it will provide) and thanks to my smoke addiction I'm feeling ok working 10-15 hours a day.

2. Fat Fat Fat. This is common thing for most of the quitters (and non smokers) they becoming fat and ugly, of course you can be on diet all time and do physical training - but again, this take time and I don't like that. I like to eat what I want, when I want and enjoy my life. I agree that smoke maybe not the best fat killer, but it surely helps allot, especially for woman.

3. Taste. You ppl keep forgetting about it. It is just enjoyable. Especially good cigars and pipe tobacco - its beautiful smell and taste - and I love it.

4. Alcohol & tobacco. They meant to be together. Completely different feeling from combination comparing to alcohol itself.
I think this is the strongest reason for me to continue smoking, because I remember myself drinking while quite smoking (long time ago) and it just sucks - Just admit it. It is sucks to drink with out smoke and you can't do anything about it. Of course you can quit drinking and quit smoking. You can also go to monastery and become a monk, but I don't think this is a way for me.
Actually good cup of coffee with a cigarette or cigar - also much better than just coffee and you all know that.

5. Drug: Tobacco is a natural drug that helps brain to be more productive and to be in control of the situation. Same way as coffee or tea helps. Why people think that drinking coffee is OK but smoking is bad? We are created this way by nature, we like all this additional power sources even if it is sometimes bad for overall body health. And what is the health of the body? If you not getting you doze of the drug of some kind - you may get a hard attack, or you can become seriously ill, because your body won't be compatible to accomplish all your tasks, and will be damaged. And you can not decrease number of tasks you want to complete - because this is life and we live fast. So what people do? They go to the drug store and instead of smoke they will buy advil Tylenol and so on an on, and they are eating all this chemical tablets instead of natural drug, and thinking they are healthier? This is crazy. If you not strong enough to live with out smoke, and you want to quit smoking and replace it with massive madness of different tablets- you just a moron, who want to kill himself. (I'm not saying that if you don't need nicotine you should smoke -no, you should not. But if you need it - and you are going to replace it with anti-depressants, head pain killers and other stuff- this is just stupidity)

6. What is the main damage of smoking?
You probably all know that (as I suppose you all educated people) the worst part of being smoking is getting smog (I'm not sure about right translation of this word - it could be: resin; pitch, tar, rosin, 'to gum' - sorry about that, but English is not my native language, let's just call it smog) - so this thing is in tobacco and it goes into your lungs and blocking surface of lungs and this is bad. And I agree with this. Of course I can argue that it also protects lungs and acting like anti-bacterial agent, and smokers are much more resistant and protected than others to allot of forms of flu and etc. anyway - let's forget about it.

So this thing goes into lungs and blocking it, and the smaller are the fractions of the tobacco "smog" - the worse because small fractions go deeper into the lungs and it is harder for lungs to do self-cleaning But if tobacco you smoke has big smog fractions they condensates small fractions on themselves and do not allow small fractions to go deep into lungs - that is why - even it is sounds stupid to you, in most of the cases it is more safe to smoke cigarettes without filter or cigars then smoke light cigarettes, because of the tobacco processing and because filter only stop big fractions of smog and small fractions alone are going to lungs. So filter actually working against you. Knowing all that just helps minimize lungs damage keeps the lungs on some acceptable "clean" level. So if you know what you smoke and how you smoke it you can always protect your lungs and do not damage them in any way (again, don't forget that lungs have self-cleaning mechanism and they are cleaning themselves , so certain level of smog inside is ok) So if you are not a total moron , and not smoking ultra-light cigarettes (pure 'small fractions' smog and no drug) and if you are keeping the balance - everything is going to be ok with your lungs and I don't care do you believe me or not, I just want to share this info with you - it might help you someday.

As to the drug addiction to smoke - maybe it is looks bad, but same goes to everything good in our life - like new cars, expensive food and big houses - this is our life and we should live it how it is without shame.

AND FINNALY:
What is healthy life? The life you all want? If you are going spent your life in the small village, get up every morning and sing a songs with the birds , I'll be the first one to say you should quit smoking (at least tobacco Wink)). But the life we live in big cities is not healthy at all and it can not be.

Most of our day to day activities require constant brain activity and analysis of huge information inputs. This is not what the human was designed for. We don't really need all our muscles any more. We have cars, we have robots. That is why whole our structure as human is misbalanced and all focused on brain activity. And it is not sufficient for the brain to get same supply as it was getting thousands of years ago. And where no answer to this except for getting out of society or changing a job a constriction worker or house cleaner (nothing bad in this professions) but if you are going to keep up with life the way it is , you will be on drug, one or another or you wont be successful.

I just prefer smoking and I'm happy. If you decide to quit , your brain will find different supply anyway. Let's hope it will be less damaging than smoke.

Good luck to you all

P.S. I hope this time - you won't find that many spelling mistakes in my post....

Can you remember what it was like to be alive before you started smoking? .........before your body became dependent on nicotine. You have all kinds of really really good reasons for smoking. Did you need all those reasons before you started to smoke?

It is so hard to quit smoking though. Its easier said than done! I always find that whenever I quit I miss everything about smoking...even holding it :) I tried one of those e-cigarettes from Cigotine and found it was a great help! Its basically the same as a cigarette without the tar and chemicals!

The cost of smoking is greater than most people realise. It goes beyond the health effects on the individual teh following is a summary of teh cost of smoking justifying quitting;
  • Huge health care cost  - more money from the taxpayer
  • Environmental damage through cigarette butts, cutting down of trees to make wrapping paper for cigarettes, clearing of more land in developing countries to grow tobacco crop, bush fires due to improperly discarded smouldering cigarettes
  • Child labour in developing countries on tobacco farms - see this CNN article.

Whatever good reasons you provide to justify the smoking habit... of course you don't feel bad about that and you enjoy being in your way, at the end of the day, it's just one thing that come in to picture your health!!!
It would be wise if you do it in a limited way.

I have also experienced it. When you use electronic cigarettes, there is no smell, no lighting up, no tobacco so it is safe to smoke with the help of e-cigars.
